You should never assume that anyone feels invited to worship with you – tell them! Worship days and times should be clearly visible on your home page. Tell guests what to expect. Is nursery care available? Do children go to a special service during adult service? How should visitors dress? How long is the service? What type of music do you have? Is the church ADA compliant? Where do people with disabilities park and enter the building?

Are you wanting people to come worship with you or just look at your new building? Some pastors seem to have a false modesty in not wanting their name or picture on the home page of the church’s website. You must understand that the pastor is the first face of the church for most people. Your church web design should include a picture and brief biography of the pastor to help people feel more connected and know exactly who they are looking for when they visit.
Church web development should have a clear and easy invitation to make contact
A person who is thinking about attending your church service may have questions they want to ask before stepping through your front door. You should make it very clear that you welcome questions and provide a link to the pastor’s email address or the office email address and phone number. Direct links to staff’s email addresses is also helpful to church members.
Trying to convince people that you are a friendly church and then telling visitors to your site that someone will get back with them within 24 hours is actually counterproductive. Visitors should be able to quickly communicate with you in the way that’s most convenient for them.
Incorporating a church blog in your church web design allows you to interact with people in a conversational tone with information that can easily be read and understood.
