WordPress website design for a better business website.
If you have chosen WordPress to design your blog or website, you have joined many of the top brands including, Google, Facebook, The New York Times, and many others. WordPress has grown so much in popularity because it is flexible and easy to use.
Instead of getting you all bogged down in the many features of this blogging platform, I have decided to break WordPress down into pieces and give you step-by-step instructions for each part. I will begin with simple instructions for adding blog posts to WordPress.
Step #1: Accessing the WordPress “Dashboard”.
Once you have installed the WordPress platform, simply use your log in information to access the “Dashboard” to begin adding your first blog post.
Step #2: Moving from the WordPress “Dashboard” to the Blog “Posts” area.
Your WordPress “Dashboard” is your command center for every phase of blog or website construction. It would be a good idea for you to take a look at everything in the left sidebar. In order to add blog posts to WordPress, just select “Posts”.
Step #3: Adding the new blog post.
If you already have blog posts on your blog, they will be listed here. Since you are adding a post, select “Add New” at the top left of this page.
Step #4: Constructing the new blog post.
Every element of new blog post construction is managed from this page. The text editor is similar to other editors you have probably used. You can control the font size and color, add hyperlinks, and add images to your new blog post. You will assign your blog post to the appropriate “Category” and later we will discuss some basic SEO that can be done from this page. Be sure and select “Publish” when you are finished with the new blog post.
Step #5: Publishing your new blog post to your WordPress blog.
This page verifies that your new post has been published on your WordPress blog. If you need to add content to your post or correct an error, you can do that on this page. Just be sure and hit the “Update” button when you are finished editing. If you have another blog post to publish, simply select “Add New” at the top left of the page.
