Quality Web Content Will Make or Break Your Business

Quality web content gets noticed.
Web design with quality web content gets noticed.

Would it surprise you to know that web designers and web content writers view quality web content differently? The designer is more interested in the structure of the site, its navigation, and optimizing it so search engines will index it quickly. The content writer is more concerned about delivering the type of unique quality content that people can digest easily. They demand content that is read, linked to, and shared.

Let’s look at a few ways quality website content can help make or break your business.

Quality Web Content In The Digital Age Comes In Different Shapes and Sizes

In order to understand the importance of quality content, we must first clarify the term “content”. The content of your website can be written, it can be a graphic, or it can be a video or audio presentation. No matter the type of content, your goal must be to either inform, educate or entertain.

Quality Web Content Must Be Easily Digestible

Is is surprising to learn just how many website owners use their site as a platform to showcase their vast vocabulary or their highly technical knowledge in a particular field. The average consumer will only read blog articles and web pages they can easily digest and understand. Quality website content should consist of short sentences and paragraphs written in plain English. Blog and web copy should be written in a conversational tone just as though you were speaking to your audience.

Quality Web Content Must Be Original and Unique

There is certainly nothing wrong in getting topic ideas for blog posts or web pages from some other author. There is, however, a lot wrong with copying other peoples’ work. When a person simply copies and pastes someone else’s work on their site they have put their personal reputation on the line.

If the content isn’t original and unique, it’s worthless. It’s worthless to the general public and it’s worthless to search engines. Use your research wisely and put your own angle on the topic so the content is original. If you use a part of someone else’s work, make sure you properly cite the source.

Quality Content Must Add Value To The User Experience

When people search online they are looking for useful information. People want to find answers to questions, information to solve a problem, or information on which to base a better informed buying decision. Most of the time, they really didn’t come to your website to buy anything. Your content must be tailored to meet the expectations of your target audience. If you give people the information they want and can understand, the sales will come later.

Building trust and confidence is critical to any type of long lasting success for your business website. If you focus most of your efforts on your own interests and ignore the needs of your audience, your website will more than likely fail.

Unfortunately, the “Comments” section for this blog had to be closed, because, I, like Google, don’t appreciate those who can’t take quality content seriously. I would like to hear your comments about this article or about quality content in general. Please share your thoughts and ideas on my Facebook page.

Contact me today and I will deliver the type of web content you need to make the right connections.
